Parkland Restaurant

Setting the Scene

Pulling up it doesn't seem like much, Parkland Restaurant is old and has seen better days. That doesn't deter the obvious crowd of regulars that dine on a regular basis. Just in the time we were sitting at the table, multiple groups were catching up with the wait staff and clearly visit often. Our waitress was kind but quite awkward in all of our interactions

Bethany

I started off with some chlorinated water with really smooth and yummy decaf coffee. Unfortunately the waitress very kindly refilled my coffee but it threw off the ratio of sugar and creamer so I only drank half. I got the breakfast quesadilla which had egg, cheese, tomatoes, and cilantro and it was served with salsa and sour cream. Overall it was actually pretty decent. The breakfast quesadilla was an excellent alternative to a breakfast wrap since it is the same ingredients but a different form factor. I thought it had a lot of flavor, especially the salsa even though it was a bit spicy. If you don't like cilantro like me, I would recommend asking for no cilantro so you can enjoy the flavor without tasting soap. The potatoes had a good amount of oil and crisp but holy cow they needed a lot of salt to be edible.

Ben

When I received my orange juice, I was convinced that a puppy had chewed the rim of the cup, but it had just seen a lot of love over the years. The orange juice itself was extremely standard, edging on watery. The eggs Benedict had a thick and tasty hollandaise but the egg released water when I cut into it which watered it down significantly. The ham was too thick for my liking. Like Bethany said, the potatoes were moist with oil and browned really well.
