Trivet Diner
9:34 - 10:05 am
Setting the Scene
Located in the heart of the Tilghman Street and 309 intersection, one may stumble upon the bright and shiny trivet diner. We are realizing that most diners have similar interiors, full of shiny chrome decor paired with patterned carpets and beige walls. We sat in a booth by the window, and watched the patrons as they entered and exited the diner, the average age of these patrons being about 75.
We kept our breakfast order tried and true. For Bethany, a decaf coffee and a water, a breakfast wrap and a side of hash browns. For Ben, an OJ and eggs Benedict with home fries.
Bethany
Coffee was mid, which is typical for a diner. Definitely not the worst cup o Joe I’ve had but certainly not the best. Water was not chlorinated but it did taste off, so…do with that information what you will. I got the Trivet wrap (had to because Ben instilled his namesake rule upon me). It had ham, green peppers, onion, cheddar cheese, egg, and potato in it, a meal all in one nice little package. Super duper yummy! It was finished on the grill (thumbs up for that) and it was moist without dripping out everywhere (fellow breakfast wrap enthusiasts will understand that sometimes the water content of toppings will cause the wrap to become soggy, but this was not the case here). Definitely one of the best breakfast wraps I've ever had. The side of hash browns was not great. They were essentially unseasoned and uncrispy shredded potatoes. Needed lots of salt and more time on the grill (do not let the color of them in the picture deceive you, they were not crispy).

I didn’t take good (aka any) notes on the orange juice, but I think that gives us exactly the information we need: it was run-of-the-mill orange juice from concentrate. Not a complaint™. The eggs benedict was ok. It came with the most hollandaise sauce I’ve ever received on an eggs benedict. It was probably for the first time in my life that I didn’t finish all of the sauce on the plate. That being said, the sauce was good, maybe slightly off.
The Canadian bacon was very apparently ham. It has some weird chewy bites which makes me sound like I’m ignorant of the fact that meat comes from animals. But it was a little on the thick side and it was just off putting to have chewy bits in an eggs benedict.
Nothing notable about the English muffin except that it got the job done. The hashbrowns looked really good with the browning, but were under seasoned. The egg was well cooked and not obnoxiously runny.

Would come for a breakfast wrap smothered in hollandaise
