Peep's Diner

Setting the Scene
Sandwiched between a barber shop and laundromat with a Domino's Pizza next door, Peeps Diner almost hides within a small strip mall off Main Street in Harleysville. Walking in we were greeted by a very modern interior, making us believe that this restaurant is on the newer side. Wait staff was polite and quick, and the owners (we assume) were very involved in the front of house. Plastic wrapped silverware was a surprise, but two napkins to start is always a positive (let's be real, one is never enough). Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by our experience at this quaint little diner.

I started off with my coffee and water. The water smelled super chlorinated but actually tasted fantastic. It also came with a lemon, hashtag fancy. The coffee was outstanding…probably the best cup of diner coffee to date. I got a skillet with hash browns, cheese, sausage, pepper, and tomato with over easy eggs on top and served with a side of white toast. Honestly, it was amazing. The eggs were cooked perfectly and didn't have any of those weird crispy bits around the outside. The veggies were barely cooked, but I like it that way. They had good color and flavor for not being on the flattop for long. The hash browns were delicious and well cooked and the cheese that I added made the whole dish super gooey and yummy. The toast was a bit thicker than normal but not as thick as Texas toast. It had great crunch and flavor with the appropriate amount of butter. Delicious alternative for the classic wrap.

The orange juice was the strongest I've had since starting doing this reviews. It reminded me of Sunny D a bit but that's not a complaint™. Excellent water which sounds weird to say but you can't ask for better diner water. The eggs Benedict was quite good. The ham was a little on the thick side but it wasn't chewy so no points off there. The nice part was that the ham was browned on both sides so it gave it a lot of flavor. The egg was cooked perfectly in my opinion. The English muffin was pretty standard. The sauce on the Benedict was really tasty and overall I really enjoyed the full Benedict.
THE HASHBROWNS slapped. They were shredded with a lot of oil to keep them moist. They had a good brown on them and were just so good. Easily my favorite hash browns I've had.
