3W Eatery

3W Eatery

Finally, a location and parking lot that are user friendly. 3W Eatery is located on Brookside Road in Macungie, taking over the building where Casa Catrina used to occupy. After much success in the Slatington Farmer’s Market, the family owned business is thrilled to have a second location that serves as a larger brick and mortar to host many more customers. They chose the right location for it. The building is 2 stories tall with a full bar on the first floor and plenty of seating available on both floors. Their decor is simple and chic, focusing on neutral colors (which is a strong contrast to the bold colors the previous restaurant displayed). It feels new but lived in, fresh but not tacky. The menu is extensive, carrying all of the traditional breakfast staples. They are known for their breakfast, cheesesteaks, and sandwiches, so any option seemed like a good one. We were shocked by how long everything took, from the waitress coming over to greet us to our food coming out. For how few people were in there, we expected faster service, but let's see if the long waits are worth it.

Bethany

3W Eatery — Bethany's dish

The decaf coffee was pretty standard; nothing great about it, but it wasn't bad either. The water had a little bit of a funny taste to it, but it was tolerable. I ordered the Monte Cristo breakfast wrap instead of their regular breakfast burrito. I can't read and I thought that there was going to be eggs inside of it but there was no egg which was kind of disappointing. The Monte Cristo wrap was filled with ham, turkey and swiss cheese. Now mind you that's exactly what it said on the menu, so it's my fault that I just can't comprehend what I was reading. Then, the whole wrap is dipped in their French toast batter and cooked. That's the part that really intrigued me and was probably my favorite part. It was nice to have the crunchy exterior with some powdered sugar and cinnamon, making it slightly sweet while the meat on the inside was more savory. I ended up dipping it in syrup which was a nice touch. The turkey was a bit dry for me so I actually took out some chunks but the ham was just fine and I barely tasted the swiss cheese. So overall the wrap was good. It just wasn't what I wanted or expected but that's my own problem. When it comes to potatoes here, there's four options: breakfast potatoes, home fries, hash browns and french fries. So I got the breakfast potatoes, which are chunks of potatoes that are deep fried. In my opinion they were excellent. They were nice and crispy on the outside, nice and soft on the inside. Great dipped in some ketchup. 10 out of 10, would recommend again.

Then we got a Belgian waffle and the Belgian waffle was very standard. There was nothing special about it. I feel like that's how it is with Belgian waffles. It was nice and crispy on the outside, which was good, but I'm not dying to have another one of those.

Ben

3W Eatery eggs benedict

The orange juice was pretty standard, not cold which is whatever. They had a couple eggs benedict options on the menu. One that caught my eye was the pork belly benedict. I love everything pork belly. In fact, that's what they called me in high school. These eggs benedict were spectacular. The sauce was nothing special but solid. The egg was nice and runny. The pork belly was tender but also crisp. I think they deep fried it after cooking it for a long time. The English muffin was standard. Each thing was good, but all together, very tasty. I got the home fries. They had a lot of potato options, like almost too many, but it is nice to have the choice. The home fries were like the shaved potatoes that are browned up on a flat top. This is probably the best browning I've ever had on home fries. They must have actually cooked them to order. Maybe that explains why it took a little bit for the order to come out. They need a little bit of salt but honestly not the end of the world. We also got a waffle. It was a standard waffle. I'd say I've had better.

Caroline

I ate before I came, so I was not hungry for breakfast.
